If you wish to visit England, then one of the well known worth-seeing places is Oxford, UK. This is basically a quite small city. Ashmolean Museum-
Ashmolean Museum is one of the oldest and one of the most popular attractions here. This is the first museum of Britain. It was first visited by the tourists on May 24 in 1683. That is over 300 years ago. The museum had a great collection and when the Alfred Jewel was added to the collection, it did not take long to become the most valued possession in the whole collection. After a period of time, some of the collected items from the museum were moved to other places dividing it into a few other museums. If you are interested in history, archeology etc. you can visit this museum, free cost.

Bodleian Library-
Bodleian Library is actually a group of libraries, which consists of a number of different libraries in itself that are spread in various areas of the city. The library is named after Thomas Bodley. He started establishing this series of Bodleian buildings in 1613. Today it has at least one copy of every book printed in Britain. This is because no other library can stand in competition with it. The books in this library are not issued. If you are interested in reading them, you need to be a member to even the access the reading rooms.

Blackwell's Book-
Originally founded in 1879, this tourist spot is quite unique as book stores considered as tourist attractions are fairly unusual. It is the largest book store in Europe with an area covering 10,000 square feet. It is known as the Norrington room. The most interesting fact is that this store is situated in the underground of Trinity College Gardens. There are 9 individual branches of this store that specialize in different book variety.

Oxford Botanic Gardens-
The Oxford Botanic Gardens were chiefly founded under the name Physic Gardens to meet the purpose of studying plants for medicinal purposes. It is established on an old Jewish cemetery and cost a huge 5000 pounds. These are the oldest gardens of the whole Europe.

Radcliffe Camera-
The next attraction that you will find quite fascinating is the Radcliffe Camera. The word camera over here means room and cost 40,000 pounds which was given by Doctor John Radcliffe. It took 12 years to get constructed and that was from 1737 to 1749. This was designed by James Gibbs. It also had a library in it that had a huge stock of books in both general and scientific varieties but later on they were re-located to others. Unluckily, public is not permitted to visit this camera but it does hold over 600,000 books beneath Radcliffe Square and that is really a remarkable fact.
